Hey! I'd love to share words with you and your wonderful community. For all booking inquiries or to just say what's up, please email email@example.com or fill out the form.
I don't have many certainties, In fact, even those certainties ain't really certainties. I do, however, have a small number of ever-evolving considerations: I believe that we all stumble & soar as we grow into the best versions of ourselves. I believe that, on that journey, we experience & share much insight & injury. I believe that everyone is fragile (even the ones who made you fragile). I believe that everyone, who wants to be, is redeemable. I believe that some things aren't meant to be redeemed. Some things are just the spice for everything that makes you so dynamically, you.
My name is Té V. Smith. I just wanna' write a better story than the one I wrote yesterday. I write books to express the grace and grit of these beliefs. I explore the themes of healthy masculinity, mental health, and education reform. I'm a writer, educator, father, and abolitionist with dual identities in East St. Louis & Nigeria. I've written two books. A collection of poetry & prose, Here We Are, Reflections of A God Gone Mad (2019 R.H. Austin Publishing) and a Young Adult novel, Exit Ticket (2019 Field Order Press). Some of my short fiction has been published in or are forthcoming in Tin House, Kingdoms In The Wild, Black Girl In Ohm, Blackbird and more. Thank you for visiting my website. I'm somewhere finishing my novel, SWIM GOOD, loving on my family, and probably eating grapefruit.
I hope you're (more than) well.
